How to maximize the effectiveness of the EquiBalance® System:

Step-by-step:

1.  Begin by attaching the breastplate strapping to the girth below. Adjust the length until the principal pulley is at the middle of the chest, approximately one palm-sized space under the throat-line.

2.  Determine the appropriate frame size for your horse by adjusting the training rein according to the length of the horse’s neck. Ensure it is set long enough to allow the horse to stretch forward-down completely. Allow your horse to become familiar with the EquiBalance® Training Rein in a wide frame.

3.  To secure the equipment in place, attach the safety elastics to the side rings of the saddle or lunging girth.

4. If you need to shorten the frame, you can change the length of the rope rein by tying a knot directly behind the trigger carabiners, without readjusting the strapping.

Check list:

1.  Customize the Frame Size: Adjust the length of the strapping to the frame size that suits your horse. Proper fit ensures optimal functionality and comfort.

2.  Use the Safety Elastics: Always keep the safety elastics attached. These elastics maintain the secure position of the equipment.

3.  Avoid Interference: Do not place any objects on the rope rein that may interfere with the system's functionality. Double-check that all strapping is fully adjusted and not left loose. Proper adjustment not only ensures the stability of the equipment but also helps prevent any potential damage that may occur due to loose fittings.

By following these guidelines, you can optimize the performance and safety of the EquiBalance® System

What to do if your horse wouldn't take the bit?

If your horse tends to evade contact by keeping its head behind the vertical line, adjust the training reins to a wide frame and move the neck piece towards the poll.

To encourage the horse to seek connection, try leading him to a forward-down head position. To achive this you will need to have your lunge line attached to the cavesson.

It may take some time for your horse to understand that this training rein will not block him in moving forward-down, but as trust develops, he will become more confident in the connection.

Practice until your horse can easily maintain this position.

What to do if your horse is pushing against the bit?

In cases where the horse resists the contact on the bit, move the neck piece of the EquiBalance® Training Rein towards the withers, to reduce the horse's ability to evade the frame.

As the EquiBalance® Training Rein does not create tension, the horse learns that any pressure on the bit is a result of his own actions.

It may take some time for your horse to realize that the tension is created by his own resistance. As he learns to let go, the training rein will guide him toward a more comfortable posture and softer connection.
