The passionate journey of many trainers often begins with the challenge of working with a complicated horse. In my case, this remarkable horse was Bathir Bey, an Akhal Teke stallion. At just three years old, he presented significant physical and behavioral obstacles. His pronounced asymmetry and fiery temperament made even basic exercises, such as maintaining balance during a circle while stretching forward-down, quite difficult.

Recognizing the necessity for a lunging aid to complement the cavesson, and as I preferred to avoid any equipment that enforced an unnatural frame, unwanted pressure on the jaw, or caused uneven contact on the bit, I embarked on a quest to find a solution in line with my principles.

Through diligent research and dedication, I identified the limitations of every existing side rein and draw rein, which inspired me to develop a new system.

The EquiBalance® Training Rein emerged in 2012.

After refining its design to ensure optimal fit and functionality, the results were immediately promising. Beyond its efficacy in schooling young horses, it proved invaluable in rehabilitating competition horses with mobility issues.

Encouraged by positive feedback from owners, I sought expert opinions by having it evaluated by top trainers across Europe. The EquiBalance® Training Rein not only earned their unequivocal approval but also became an integral tool in their training methodologies.

Undoubtedly, skepticism persists, and the reservations of those who have had negative experiences with traditional side and draw reins are understandable. Nevertheless, the decision rests with them whether they're willing to acknowledge the distinctions and discover the benefits of what this new system has to offer.

Meanwhile, I remain committed to supporting riders who are interested in redefining their possibilities by learning about this equipment as it should be used—as intended, and only when needed, because there is so much more to lunging than what is generally expected.

I am deeply indebted to Bathir Bey for motivating me to pursue fresh perspectives, resulting in developments that have significantly improved the welfare of many other horses.

His influence serves as a reminder that it's not about giving the horse a second chance but about inspiring riders to seek new approaches.

I am profoundly grateful to riders who embrace the EquiBalance® Gymnastic system, allowing me not just to assist them but to build our own community dedicated to training mentally and physically balanced horses that move with genuine cadence.
